The clouds had cleared, the sun was shining and the buyers were out in force ready to bid on this unique and historical piece of Lennox Head.
72 North Creek Road was incredibly popular throughout its pre-Auction campaign with more than twenty parties requesting contracts and close to 100 groups inspecting the property in the lead up to Saturday’s Auction. Most of the interest was from young families and couples hoping to capitalise on the rich period details and land size.
The level of interest for the property carried through to Auction day with nine parties registered to bid.
Bidding opened at $800,000 and rose rapidly at various increments. Six parties threw their hat in the ring during the course of the Auction, but in the end, it was a contest between a young couple looking to relocate from New York and a local family from Bangalow.
The hammer fell at $1,090,000 – $190,000 above reserve – with the family from Bangalow walking away with the keys. They were represented by a local buyer’s agent, Michael Murray of Byron Property Search.
Elders selling agent Nick Bordin said it was a competitive Auction. “We were expecting a good turnout for such a unique property in Lennox Head, but the result exceeded everyone’s expectations. Both the sellers and buyers were thrilled.”
This Auction reinforces the resilience of the Northern Rivers’ market with such a successful result in what is perceived to be an uncertain climate. Congratulations to everyone involved!
